1978 Founding of the company 1981 Mr J. Marcovici joined Mr Mehta to manufacture melees. 1986 Eurostar was first accepted as a Sightholder by The Diamond Trading Company, a part of the De Beers Group. 1990 Eurostar's sales surpassed $100 million. 1994 Eurostar established its main diamond cutting and polishing centre in China. 1996 Eurostar celebrates its 10th anniversary as a Diamond Trading Company Sightholder. 1999 Eurostar becomes the leading loose polished diamond exporter in Belgium in terms of turnover. 2001 Eurostar acquired a sizeable stake in The Hearts On Fire Company, at the same time becoming the leading producer of ideal cut hearts and arrows diamonds in the world. 2003 Eurostar is selected as a Sightholder of The Diamond Trading Company under the Supplier of Choice Strategy. 2004 Eurostar's global diamond sales surpass $1 billion. 2004 Dimexon Eurostar donates $1 million to the GIA India Endowment for Education Fund. 2005 Eurostar earns a second DTC Sight in Botswana and Eurostar Botswana becomes a DTC Sightholder in its own right. 2006 Eurostar celebrates its 20th anniversary as a Sightholder. 2006 With 10,000 employees and operations in 7 cities globally, Eurostar's sales surpass $1 billion for the third consecutive year, maintaining its leading position as the # 1 value-adding diamond company in Belgium for the fifth consecutive year.
